TNT Travel Show 2007 TNT is the well known magazine aimed at the Antipodean and South African communities that’s given away free outside most central London Underground stations. Their annual travel show is taking place this year on Saturday 10 March at the New Connaught Rooms on Great Queen St, on the eastern side of Covent Garden near Kingsway and is free to enter, which seems like a first for travel shows in London. The show features exhibitors covering flights, acommodation, travel gear and equipment, overland tour operators and more. There’s a free internet zone to use, Octoberfest Bar and chillout area, a free programme of travel talks, competitions and travel auctions. The show is on from 9.30am-6pm and the New Connaught Rooms are a short walk from either Covent Garden or Holborn Tubes.
La Dolce Vita An exhibition looking at all things Italian from food and drink to travel and buying property there, Italian fashion and design, with displays covering Italian cars to coffee makers. There are displays by well known Italian chefs and a cooking school and a main entertainment stage with music performances and Italian language lessons. La Dolce Vita’s on at Olympia London, there’s a opening Gala Evening on 8 March and the show proper runs from 9-11 March. Standard tickets are £16, Kensington Olympia is the closest Tube.
The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show One of the biggest home and lifestyle shows that takes place in London and running for three weeks. It covers new ideas for the interior and design of homes and plus all the new technology available for modern living. Among the events happening are demonstrations on home improvements and repairs as well as garden design and cookery. There are advice centres available on subjects from planning permission to interior design and they’ll also be celebrity appearances throughout the show. The Ideal Home Show is on at Earls Court from 9 March-1 April and tickets are £14 weekday, £16 weekends. There’s a late night Thursday opening where tickets are £6 after 5pm. Earls Court and West Brompton are the nearest Tube stations.
The London International Dive Show 2007 Whether you’re a regular diver or a complete novice this show at ExCel London covers all aspects of this exciting activity. There are exhibitors for diving gear, holidays, training courses and boats plus 25 free seminars and talks by well known dive specialists, beginner and rebreather try-dive pools, a digital underwater photography clinic and expert traing advice. The Dive Show’s on from 10-11 March with tickets £7.50 advance, £10.50 on the door. Every visitor is entered in a draw for a £3,500 Caribbean holiday. Custom House for ExCel on the Docklands Light Railway is the nearest train station.
Ronnie Wood Exhibition When not making bundles touring the globe with the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is quite a renowned artist who’s had his work exhibited all over the world and has his latest London exhibition at Gallery 27 on Cork Street in Mayfair. He’s showing 50 new paintings including many centred around the horses he breeds at his home in Co.Kildare, Ireland. The exhibition is free and is on from 6-17 March.
