State Opening of Parliament If you want to see some British pageantry and the Queen herself then Wednesday 15 November is the day to be around central London and the route of the procession for the State Opening of Parliament. This is an annual event where the Queen reads a speech to the Houses of Parliament to open the new session. The Queen in full ceremonial regalia journey’s from Buckingham Palace along the Mall, down Whitehall to Westminster. She travels in a horse drawn carriage along with marching bands and Household cavalry troops. The procession starts at 11am.

The Times Gap Year Show A travel show for young people looking to spend some time abroad before getting down to serious university studies. The show features exhibtors covering tours, working holidays, working abroad, insurance, sports among other things. The show is on at ExCel London from 17-18 November, tickets cost £7. Customs House on the Doclands Light Railway is the nearest station.

Casino Royale Premiere See the stars of the latest 007 spectacular at the Odeon Leicester Square on the 14 November. Expect a big crowd to see Daniel Craig and the Bond girls go up the red carpet. Nearest tube is Leicester Square.

Business Startup 2006 A free show for people with a small business or looking to start one up. 150 exhibitors will be covering everything from advertising, business planning, finance, sales and a lot more plus free seminar’s with guest speakers. The show is on at Olympia in west London on 17-18 November, from Fri 10am-5pm, Sat 10am-4pm. Kensington Olympia tube.

Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show With exhibitors on caravans, motorhomes, camping, boats and watercraft, activities to try or watch and demonstrations of outdoor cooking from celebrity chefs, this show takes place from 16-19 November at ExCel, tickets cost £7 adavance, £9 on the door.
