fete.jpgThe Victoria & Albert Museum along with creative consultancy group Scarlet Projects are hosting what they describe as a contemporary take on the traditional English fete this Friday and Saturday, 27-28 July.

Taking place in the museum’s Pirelli Garden, the Village Fete brings together more than 30 of the most inventive and creative designers in the UK today to produce a range of unique stalls with games to play and products to win. Among the stalls and areas to checkout are Multistorey’s VIP Lounge, the World Mustache Championships, Studio Mama’s Hairdryer Ping Pong, Electric Shock Therapy administered by Professor Crispin Jones, Happily Ever After’s Knowledge Archive, Gaurudio Studiage’s Gorgeously Greasy Grill and Johnson Banks’s Post Office among others.

There’s also Scarlet Projects’ Tombola with hundreds of designer prizes to be won, plus DJ’s and bluegrass band The Prints of Whales. The Village Fete is on from 6.30pm-10pm on Friday and 1pm-5pm on Saturday. Tickets are £3 adults and 50p for kids under 12. The V&A is on the Cromwell Road in West London, the nearest Tube is South Kensington. Map
