Want to be on TV?

If you’re in London and want to go to the recording of a tv show there are a number of websites where you can get free tickets. Most require you to register, then you can select the show and date you want, if its available you print off the e-ticket and you’re good to go. Check that there’s no age limit to the show you want to attend if you’re going to take kids, some are over 16 only.

The BBC site asks you questions about which show and venue you want(they have a bunch of recording venues throughout London), the date you want to go on and the number of tickets you need. If you get picked they’ll send you the tickets two weeks ahead of recording. If you need a sign language interpreter they can provide one for you.

TVRecordings asks you to register, gives maps to all the recording venues in London, has details of shows on offer and a FAQ page on attending a tv recording.

Applausestore is a pretty detailed site handling tickets for shows on all the major channels, registration is needed.

Hattrick is a production company that produces some very popular shows on British tv such as HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, ROOM 101 and THE KUMARS AT No. 42. They advise that they oversubscribe tickets to the really popular shows like HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU to compensate for no shows and people are admitted on the night on a first come first served basis.

SRO Audiences has individual breakdowns on the shows they currnetly have tickets for a a fairly simple registration form.

BeOnScreen seems to have a lot of reality and game shows on their books, so if you’re into brainless tv this could be the place to hook up with like minded souls. Has a standard free membership or Gold for £19.99.

Lost in tv and Clappers are two sites that seem to have a limited number of shows available for free tickets.
