Capitalwoman 2007 A free event taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre and Central Hall Westminster allowing women to do what they love most, have a good natter about just about anything. They’ll be seminars and workshops on everything from, domestic violence, rape, housing, women and equality to climate change and cycling in London. They’ll be films shown, comedians and speeches from the Mayor and MPs. It all starts at 9am on 3rd March.

Becoming Jane London Film Premiere Not the type of film I’d have much interest in seeing, a period piece about the life of novelist Jane Austen, but if you want to catch the stars such as Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy the premiere is at the Odeon West End in Leicester Square on Sunday afternoon.

City Hall Open Weekend Another chance to see around the building where the big decisions that are made about London take place, as well as to take in the great views from the balconies on the open ninth floor. Open from 10am-5pm on 3-4 March.

Richmond Park Two live photographic presentations one called Scenes from Kew about the Royal Botanic Gardens and the other Wolves and Bears by photographer Mark Garbutt about a trip in Canada. Tickets are £12 including brunch.

Sport Lots of important football games this weekend, in the Premiership on Saturday Arsenal play Reading at the Emirates along with Fulham v Aston Villa and the huge relegation London derby Watford v Charlton. There are two games in League One, Brentford v Scunthorpe, Millwall v Cheltenham and Barnet are home to Wrexham in League Two. On Sunday there’s make or break game for West Ham who look odds on to be relegated if they can’t beat Tottenham.

On Saturday in Rugby Union London Irish play Newcastle, and Saracens v Sale and Wasps v Bristol are on Sunday. In Rugby League Harlequins have a game against Warrington at the Stoop at 3pm on Saturday. The same day there’s horseracing at Kempton Park, a jump meeting with the first race at 1.50pm.
