If you’ve been to a sporting event in London and the journey there or back has a been a bit of a nightmare the London Assembly wants to hear your story and what you think could be done to improve it.
They’re particularly interested if you’ve been to a major event at one of London’s football stadiums, Lords or Oval cricket grounds, Wimbledon tennis or rugby stadiums like Twickenham, and they are looking for input from the London Boroughs, Transport for London, the stadium owners and importantly the fans.
I think the police can get a little carried away with crowd control especially at the Emirates after the game. It’ll be interesting to see how things work out at the new Wembley, never the easiest place to get to for fans when the old one was open. The London Assembly are probably trying to get on top of moving large sports crowds around town ahead of the Olympics coming here in 2012 so if you’re in town this year to watch some sport let them know where the transport system doesn’t work for fans.
