Canary Wharf Squash Classic

The shining glass towers of London’s newest financial centre play host to some top class squash when the Canary Wharf Squash Classic, 19-23 March, starts this evening at the East Wintergarden, near the South Dock.

The tournament features 16 of the world’s best players including world ranked number 4 and 2006 champion, Thierry Lincou of France and Britons Nick Matthew, James Willstrop and Lee Beachill, numbers 7,8 and 10 in the world. Its played on a knockout basis with the first round today and tomorrow, the quarterfinals on Wednesday, semifinals on Thursday and the final at 7.30pm on Friday night.

There are seats on all three sides of this glass walled squash court and tickets are still available for the sidewalls with seats between £15-£25 per night. There are four first round games tonight with the last one scheduled to start at 9pm. The East Wintergarden is in the heart of the Docklands development and the nearest train stations are Canary Wharf and Heron Quays on the Docklands Light Railway(DLR)
