Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium

Tickets are on sale for this year’s Race of Champions event at Wembley Stadium in December. The Race of Champions brings together drivers and racers from all forms of motorsport to see who’s the fastest. The competitors use the exactly the same cars on a parallel track so that the drivers talent behind the wheel becomes the deciding factor.

In previous years the likes of F1 Champion Michael Schumacher, NASCAR Champion Jeff Gordon, MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, Le Mans 24 Hours winner Tom Kristensen and many other top racers and rally drivers have taken part. This year eighteen drivers will compete in a series of knockout heats to get to a head-to-head super final to find The Champion of Champions.

So far only 8 of the 18 drivers have been confirmed but they include Schumacher and Kristensen again as well as F1 drivers Jenson Button and David Coulthard, and former World Rally Champion Colin McRae. Still to be announced among others are teams from the US and Finland.

The event takes place on Sunday 16 December and tickets cost between £29-£189. Practice and warmups start at 9am and the races run until 8pm. Below is a promotional video for this year’s Wembley show.
