Rooney’s the ladies first choice

Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney has proved a winner again, this time with the nations female sports fans who have voted him the ugliest sports star of all time.

Shrek as he’s known to his nearest and dearest, trounced long time ugly bloke legend Peter Beardsley into second place. Beardsley, the former Newcastle, Liverpool and Everton player who was a byword for being facially challenged, won only 12% of the vote to Rooney’s 34%.

A spokesman for the company who carried out the survey said ‘Rooney might be ugly, but he still managed to pull Coleen McLoughlin and she’s a cracker.’ No mate, I think you’ll find it was his multi-million pound salary that pulled Coleen, not his looks.

3. Ronaldinho
4. Peter Crouch
5. Ricky Hatton
6. Boris Becker
7. Paul Gascoigne
8. Luke Chadwick
9. Prince Naseem
10. Martin Keown
They may be ugly but they’ve no shortage of money or pretty women.
