Scrum in the Park

scrum.jpgThe England rugby team are taking time out from preparing for their first game in the upcoming World Cup to take part in O2’s Scrum in the Park day, this Sunday 2 September in Regent’s Park. It’s happening on the eastern side of the park from 12noon-6pm and is a day of activities for the whole family that’s free to attend.

The Scrum in the Park is split into different zones, a Kids Zone, an RFU Go Play Rugby Activity Zone, a Guinness Premiership Rugby area, a main pitch and the O2 Blueroom where fans can get some VIP treatment. Among the things on the programme are rugby skills sessions where you can show what you’ve got with members of the England team, these are between 1pm-4pm, a chance to meet present and former rugby stars, the O2 Kick, Pass and Run challenge, a chance to sign the Official England Rugby Fan Bus and there are prizes to win won and free giveaways. At the end of the day they’ll be a big send off for Brian Ashton and the World Cup squad.

Get along if you want to see the reigning World Champions before they head off to face the up hill task of retaining their title. The nearest Tubes are Regent’s Park, Great Portland Street and Camden Town. Map
