The Baseball World Series starts on Saturday and although it’s a minority sport for locals to watch in London some visitors may be keen to catch the action.
This year’s series will be between the Detroit Tigers and the St Louis Cardinals and its a best of seven game series. With London being six hours ahead of the mid-west where the games will be played it means staying up until or waking up at 1am for the start of the game.
If you’re looking for a pub or bar to watch the game in, a couple of options are Belushi’s and the Sports Cafe.

Most regular pubs won’t be staying open that late or be showing the game, the closer you go to central London the better the chances of finding somewhere to watch it.
Belushi’s is a chain that has five bars in London at Camden Town , London Bridge, Fulham, Shephard’s Bush and Covent Garden. Looking at their website they all have different regular closing times, Covent Garden 12am, London Bridge 4am for instance but the one at Camden Town is advertising the World Series and I would imagine the one at London Bridge would show it too.
Walk down Haymarket from Piccadilly Circus and on the right across from the Theatre Royal is the Sports Cafe, a two storey place with five bars. They’re normally open until 3am on a Saturday night, not sure if they’ll extend it for the series but they do have £5 cover charge after 10pm Saturday night which is a bit lame.
If you can’t find a place to go near you the other option is Channel Five’s coverage hosted by the excellant Johnny Gould, they’ll be showing every game of the World Series.
