The new Robert Zemeckis directed film Beowulf is based upon the famous 3,182 line 9th centuty English poem and the battles of the warrior hero Beowulf. It’s a digitally enhanced live action movie whose cast includes Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, John Malkovich, Robin Wright Penn and Brendan Gleeson.

The BFI IMAX cinema in Waterloo is showing the movie Roving Mars, produced by Disney and Lockheed Martin, from 4-24 May 2007. The film follows the design, construction and launching of two robot explorers named Spirit and Oppurtunity by America’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on a mission to Mars.
