New Lord Mayor of London elected

The 680th Lord Mayor of the City of London was elected yesterday. David Lewis, a lawyer and businessman will take up his position on 9 November and the following day will parade through the streets in a gold horse drawn coach during the annual Lord Mayor’s Show.

Boris Johnson shows he’s tough enough to be Mayor

Conservative MP, journalist and sometime tv presenter Boris Johnson has announced his candidacy to be the Tory challenger to Ken Livingstone as the next London Mayor in the 2008 election. He’s certainly got the look and outsize personality to be recognized by the voters.
