Given that you’ll find a mixed system of measurements used when you visit Britain here are some of the main metric/imperial, imperial/metric conversions.
Length
Imperial to metric
1 inch = 2.5 centimetres
1 foot = 30 centimetres
1 yard = 0.914 metres (914 centimetres)
1 mile = 1.6 kilometres
