The Rugby World Cup 2007 starts this Friday 7 September when the hosts France play Argentina at the Stade de France in Paris. This is the sixth Rugby World Cup, it takes place every four years and England are the reigning world champions after beating Australia in the 2003 final in Sydney.

Great picture in the Standard today showing the new Wembley Stadium and the 1941 design for a new stadium in Rio de Janeiro by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. At first glance they’re almost identical although Wembley’s arch is slightly bigger.
