Arsenal kept up the pace with Man. United and Chelsea by beating Manchester City at Highbury.
It chucked it down with rain in north London this afternoon and even Arsenal’s pitch and drainage struggled to handle all the water.
Man.City put in a good performance but you always felt the game was Arsenal’s for the taking.
City fans on talk radio after the game were moaning about about a possible foul on Robbie Fowler before the build up to Thierry Henry’s brillant second goal, but the foul, if you thought it was, happened deep in Arsenal’s half of the field.
I thought Anelka was unlucky to get a red card for shoving Ashely Cole in the face, handbag stuff.
Reyes got on for about twenty minutes and looked pretty good. A young guy coming to a new league, in a new country, in crapping conditions, it didn’t seem to phase him at all. He had some nice touches and looks like he was getting on with his new teammates. Could be a great signing for the Gunners.
