Just getting over the game of the season last night. Arsenal went down 4-2 at home to Manchester United when they really needed to a win to have any chance of retaining the championship. But what a game.
Arsenal were desperate for a win and you could feel the emotion going into this game. Vieira and Roy Keane kicking it off in the tunnel pre-game just set the tone.
Lots of scores from the previous game in October were being settled and you get the impression that these players really don’t like each other.
Arsenal led 2-1 at half-time and I was hoping this would be our first win in six over United but from going the whole season without losing a game last year, now we cannot seem to defend a lead.
Sol Campbell gave the ball away for United’s first, Almunia just confirmed how bad he is on the third and I’m guessing the defense had all gone for a pizza when O’Shea scored Man.Utd’s fourth.
You have to give United credit but jesus I’d have loved one of our players to give Wayne Rooney, aka Shrek3, a smack in the mouth. That kid might be only 19 but can already inspire hatred from opposition fans so easily.
