A sad day for Arsenal fans with club captain Patrick Vieira moving to Italy with Juventus. Vieira’s 29 and although he didn’t have a great last season, should be reaching his peak.
Arsenal are taking a big gamble letting him go, he’s the team leader, everything goes through him and if Vieira’s having a good game, Arsenal normally do.

He was the first player Arsene Wenger recruited when he took over in 1996 and Patrick changed the way the team played immediately. I’m sorry to see him go and I think most fans are scratching their heads thinking about who the club are going to replace him with.
Thanks for nine great years Patrick.

Vierra is a fabulous player. He has athletic ability, control, fight and awareness. He is the all around midfielder and Arsenal are on a loser no matter who they get.

On the bright side he did give Arsenal 9 great years and if he wants to go, they did the right thing, no point in keeping someone who wants to move.

I’m hoping Wenger can source some 23 year old from Frnace or Spain who is hungry and can step into his shoes. I think Fabregas is a very good lpayer too by the way.

Seems we made a huge error not replacing Paddy properly by betting too long on Baptista.

Although Viera is one of the greatest players that ever lived, Francesc Fabregas is just as good. Plus, he’s younger, fitter, and I’m sure he’ll be incredible with Arsenal for a long time to come.
