Arsene Wenger made his first signings of the transfer window today, 19 year old French player Vasiriki Abou Diaby and 21 year old Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor and I can’t say I know much about either of them.

Seems like Arsenal have a surplus of young prospects at the moment and so far they seem to be split between a few that could make it and a lot that won’t cut it.
The 1-0 loss to Wigan in the League Cup this week was probably the worst I’ve seen an Arsenal team play in years and if I was managing the team it would be thanks and adios to the likes of Reyes, Owusu-Abeyie, Flamini along with older hands Ljungberg, Gilberto, Cygan and Hleb. The simple fact is these guys aren’t good enough but have long enough contracts that they’ll be around for a while.

Arsenal are a club crying out for a leader on the pitch right now and its obvious that there’s no one currently there who can step up into that role.
