Just a couple of hours to go before Arsenal’s biggest game for years, the second leg of the Champions League semifinal against Villareal.
It’s advantage Arsenal going into the game because of the 1-0 win at Highbury last week but I’m going to be nervous until we score. The first goal is crucial in this game. If we get it Villareal have to score three because of the away goals rule and Arsenal can use Henry to pick them off as they chase the game.
If they score first then we start to sweat about how Wenger’s young team can handle the pressure when they’ve already had one foot in the final.
Sol Campbell is probably going to be the only personnel change from last week because Senderos is injured and Sol is the big worry tonight.
He walked out of a game at halftime at the beginning of February because of mental problems and has played one game since, two weeks ago when he got his nose busted against Portsmouth. We’ll find out tonight whether his fitness and confidence are back.
If Gilberto can stick with Riquelme like he did in the last game we have a great chance but it might just come down to needing an Henry special moment to get us through.
