The cupboard is bare

Arsenal v Manchester United kicks off in about an hour and a half, and what from the mid 90’s on was the biggest game of the season has turned into a contest between the also ran’s.
Chelsea are so far in front that the even though the season ends in May the rest have been chasing second spot since October, and Arsenal’s only realistic shot now is fourth position and one of the Champion’s League places. The way we’re playing its going to be a dog fight with Tottenham for that fourth spot.

I know Arsenal fans are pulling their hair out wanting Arsene Wenger to sign some new players in this months transfer window but he consistently says he’s not going to do that.
My big worry is with left-backs Cole and Clichy still out injured, Toure and Eboue off to the African Nations tournament what the hell are we going to do for defenders. We’re relying on Lauren, Campbell, Senderos and Cygan, not great and if one of them goes down, as Harry Redknapp loves to say ‘we’re down to the bare bones’.

Hi Chris

Really like your site - I totally agree it’s not looking good for us Gooners, I just hope we’ve got enough fight to finish above Spurs when it’s all said and done. I understand that Wenger is probably trying to save money and wait until the new stadium but we really need some solid, old fashion English players (midfield, fullback and goalie especially) to go with the skilful continental players to give us back our edge?

Hopefully if you’re interested you can visit this new Arsenal fan site (www.ardysarsenal.com) which was built by myself and my die hard Arsenal friend Ardy! I would love to get some feedback.

All the best
