Time for a clearout

With Arsenal in the midst of their worst season for over ten years the natives are restless and watching to see how Arsene Wenger turns things around.

He’s picked up three players in this transfer window, which closes tonight, but they’re all 21 or under so aren’t really going to change the team this season.
I’m glad Arsenal sold Quincy Owusu Abeyie to Spartak Moscow today. I know the kid’s only 19 but ask any Arsenal fan and they’ll tell he was just plain crap, quick but couldn’t beat a man, a lousy passer and zero goal threat, thanks for your time Quincy but no thanks.

Players I’d like to see follow Abeyie out the door in the summer include Reyes(does nothing for the team, completely ineffective), Hleb (a huge waste of money, goes on long dribbles but never looks up to pass), Cygan (absolute liability in defence), Senderos (ditto Cygan), Freddie Ljungberg (cannot remember the last barnstorming game he played, with had the best of Freddie, time to say goodbye).

On a positive note Gilbert and Djourou look excellant prospects in defence.

Totally agree with that assessment.

Players I like are : Campbell, Fabregas, Henry, Clichy.

Bring back Kenny Sansom.

Bit harsh on Ljundberg, but the rest I’d definitely go along with getting rid of. Nice to see no panic in the Arsenal camp. Things aren’t going well, but Wenger needs to keep on with his long-term development goals.

I don’t agree with all of that!
The only one I’d say definitely get rid of would be Cygan, it really annoyed me when he was purchased as a replacement for Upson, who is miles better.
The jury is still out on Hleb, but I think Senderos and Reyes were valuable acquisitions. It’s true Ljungberg seems to have gone a bit flat though.
But the transfer which now really frustrates me was selling David Bentley to Blackburn - one of our best English prospects, just scored a hat trick against Man U this evening. OK, we need to recoup some of the money from Walcott, but I really disagree with selling off the best homegrown talents.
