There’s an on going security alert at all UK airports right now after police arrested 20 people involved in a plot to blow up planes flying from Britain to the US.

The main impact on traveller’s according to news reports is that no hand luggage at all will be allowed on flights from UK airports, this includes things like phones, electric car keys, drinks bottles. All that passengers can take with them into the cabin will be their tickets and a small wallet.

Sounds like a nightmare if you’re going longhaul and according to the news it could stay this way for a while.

If you’re going to be flying from Britain any time soon get to the airport early and pack everything in your main piece of luggage.
