England fell apart tonight, losing badly to India in the Cricket World Cup. This leaves them with one game to play, against Australia on Sunday, and they’ll probably have to win that game to go through to the next round. Even a victory won’t guarantee they progress. Pakistan, with two games left including one against India on Saturday, could still scrap in.

The boycott of the earlier game in Zimbabwe looks like it could really cost England, but at least they didn’t have to meet Robert Mugabe who’s been schmoozing with Jacques Chirac in Paris while the population back home goes hungry.

Well done Chirac, you should have thrown him in jail, not served him dinner.
