Looks like we won’t be hearing that shout from behind the wicket for a while.
The Cricket World Cup has been more about off field decisions than the actual play today, first Australia’s Shane Warne, one of the best spin bowlers of all time and one of the biggest characters in the game failed a drug test for a banned substance, then England finally pulled out of their opening game in Zimbabwe.
The loss of Warne will probably be felt more by the fans watching than the Australian team, who had a comfortable win today against Pakistan. If they beat India in their next game on saturday they’ll be strong favourites to win their group.
Its a real shame for Shane Warne that he won’t get the chance to finish his career with one more World Cup win, but you have to wonder why such an experienced sportsman wasn’t more careful with what he took. If you want to see a legend before he retires he’s meant to captain Hampshire in the English County Championship this summer, future bans permitting.

I don’t think its a shame at all. Fuck him, that dumb prick. I don’t feel sorry for him at all. He knew what he was doing and should have watched his arse a bit better.
No offense Chris.
