As you were

In the Premiership. Just come back from watching the Arsenal v Newcastle game, finished 1-1, Arsenal played well in the first half but looked fairly sluggish and didn’t hit their stride in the second half even though Newcastle had Laurent Robert sent-off.

Manchester United dropped a couple of points by drawing at home with Manchester City, 1-1, good for the Gooners and Chelsea were the only top side to win this weekend beating Birmingham 3-1.

England have an international friendly against Australia in London on wednesday night which should be interesting, most of the Aussie players play in Europe and probably half of those in the Premiership. This is England’s best chance to get one over Australia in a sporting contest, excepting the Rugby win last year, they normally get stuffed.

Arsenal are making me sweat, those dropped points are giving Man U all kinds of encouragement.

Let us know how that England/Oz game goes, Chris. Be good to see how far Aussie football’s come since more players earn their living in a decent league.

Yeah will do, Erickson says he’s going to play basically his strongest team in the first half and bring on lots of young players in the second, including the most hyped young player in Britain for about a decade,17 year old Wayne Rooney who’s being called Roonaldo.
Hopefully the Aussies will have Harry Kewell fully fit and with players like Brett Emerton should have a strong team out.
