I’m alright Jack

MP’s are trying to get a cap set on the spiralling wages of footballers.
Now while no one can argue that for every Thierry Henry or van Nistelrooy, who deserve every penny they get, there are dozens of vastly over paid journeymen in the Premiership and below, its a bit rich coming Members of Parliament who regularly vote themselves a pay rise, the last time around 24-25% and then they tell the rest of the country salaries can only go up at the rate of inflation, there’s your 3% get on with it.

Football has a problem with its finances but taking advice from a bunch people who help themselves to the public purse on a show of hands is not the best way to sort it out.

MP’s are a joke. I love the way Blair’s cabinet members send their kids to private schools and the party line is ‘ban private school s they’re unfair’.

I do think the Premiership is in need of a salary cap in order to 1) Make the league a viable ongoing proposition, 2) Create a more American style system where all teams have a shot at the good talent, 3) Make sure ‘bitches for hire’ like Louis Saha and Scott Parker are not rewarded.
