Interfering sport monkey

Richard Caborn, the sports minister, says he wants to force football clubs to put a cap on players salaries. I just wonder why Caborn thinks he has any say in the matter, the government don’t put any money into football, they don’t administer the game, in fact all they do is turn up for a free lunch and the best seat in the house at all the big games and use winning teams in photo-ops.

The amount paid to players is getting crazy, but its up to the clubs themselves to decide if they can afford it, likewise the fans. If ticket prices are to high, don’t go, and if enough people don’t go the price will come down.
MP’s are asking for a 25% pay increase, which they’ll vote on themselves, what would Caborn and the rest say if players came out criticizing that.

I think a salry cap is an excellent idea, its just that the big clubs would be against it. Its in the long tern interest of football to have a cap, but this fool sports minister is just spinning his wheels if he thinks anyone cares about what he says.
