Money talks

So Chelsea are champions for the first time in fifty years and only the second time in their history, but I don’t think they’ll receive the total respect of opposing fans because you can’t get away from the fact that Abramovich’s millions have bought the title.

Jose Mourinho’s a fantastic manager and a great character, John Terry and Frank Lampard have had the season’s of their lives but you just feel that this is a team that has gone from being almost bankrupt two years ago to being the richest in the world today and they’re cherry picking the best players and coaches to put them in an artificial position.

Chelsea’s a house of cards waiting to collapse should anything happen with Roman Abrambovich.

That is my sentiment too. While there is no doubt they have a fantastic squad and can play, the whole show hangs on 1 man, Roman Abramavich. If he gets bored of football and decides to pursue other interests Chelesa are sunk.

I look at their route to the top as ’success on steroids’. While they have worked hard and made good decisions, a lot of their success has been paid for.

The poaching of other players (Scott Parker, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand etc. etc. ) actual and attempted, is not a way to create longevity.
