Lars-Christer Olsson, UEFA’s chief executive, has told the BBC that the use of two referee’s in games to cut out the play acting by some players will be discussed this summer.
I think that’s a bad idea, all the governing bodies need to do to cut out the diving is review any controversial games the day after and hand out three match bans to players who clearly take a dive, then they’ll stop because their managers will demand it.
There are two linesman that most referee’s I see hardly ever consult about decision’s, so why not use them more.
The game’s been around for over a hundred years and been fine with one ref. The problem to me is that with every game being covered by tv in the last fifteen years, defenders can’t be as hard or dirty as they used to be.
A player like Arjen Robben who falls down if there’s a breathe of wind, would have recieved a crafty punch in his kidneys or been kicked up in the air if he’d tried the acting stuff he does now twenty years ago.
With the cameras around players can’t dish out their own justice anymore, so let’s use the camera evidence to cut out the cheating.

London News
I remember 30 years ago when Liverpool played Newcastle United. Malcolm MacDonald was a cocky young striker, and after he scored a goal for Newcaslte he was celebrating exhuberantly. Liverpool defender Tommy Smith walked half the length of the pitch to deck him. The game carried on, no one sent off.
Players today are spoilt pussies and diving should be dealth with by a ban, not more refs.
