Football’s changing.Everton have two guys from China in their team and now US World Cup player Brian McBride is making an impact, three goals in his first two games for the club at the start of a loan period from the Columbus Crew.
One of the things that impressed people about the US team during the World Cup was their great fitness and athletic ability and in a league like the Premiership that’s always going to be an asset.
Meanwhile we have the sad sight of Paul Gascoigne going for a tryout at a Chinese first division team this week, and the Chinese coach and players saying he looks weak and out of shape. Gazza’s 35 and desperate to get a game anywhere but has been rejected by just about every team in Britain, has failed tryouts with teams in the US and elsewhere. This is When To Say When time and gracefully retire Gazza.
Hey Nick, Raiders win today and they’re going to San Diego!

THe face of soccer is changing, just look at Arsenal since the times when we used to support them in the late 70’s ( all white guys….7 Irish ) to the present team. Nice to see US players gewtting the experience they need.
Gazza ( so funny that guy is even still trying to play. I use his name for my e-mail just because its easy to remember. ) He had talent but no work ethic, too bad for him.
The Raiders are doing well largly because I haven’t followed them this season. I’m the kiss of death for sports teams and my leaving the country was the extra incentice they needed to win the Superbowl. Raider fans are loyal ( supportibng the team for 10 years when Al Davis moved them to LA of all places ) and have waited a long time for a Superbowl appearance. I hope to see the game.
