The Champions League starts up again tonight and now its into the business knockout rounds, where every game counts compared to a lot of the ones in the group stages. There are four games tonight and four tomorrow across Europe and there are some great matchups with each tie consisting of a home and away leg.
Two London clubs are involved, Arsenal start away in Holland tonight at PSV Eindhoven and Chelsea play Porto in Portugal tomorrow evening with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and a few of his players back at the club they won the Champions League with in 2004.
Other standout games are Celtic v AC Milan and Real Madrid v Bayern Munich tonight and Barcelona v Liverpool (the last two winners of the Champions League) on Wednesday evening. Arsenal have played four matches against PSV in the competition before, winning two and drawing two. In 2002 the Gunners won 4-0 in Eindhoven with Gilberto Silva scoring the fastest goal in Champions League history, 20 seconds, lets hope for some of that tonight. Here’s a clip of Gilberto’s goal.
