What have they done with Highbury

high2.jpg I stopped by today to see my team Arsenal’s grand old Highbury stadium, which was their home from 1913 to May 2006. I first went to games at Highbury in the 1970’s and have good memories of the place, which is probably a good thing because the wrecking ball has been getting busy down there.

The East Stand main entrance gets a makeover.

The Clock End’s gone already. The roof of the Emirates Stadium is visible beyond the cranes.

The pitch is a playground for JCB’s.

The brillant new Emirates Stadium has taken over from Highbury, its a great place to watch a game but doesn’t have the aura of the old Highbury yet.
