If you are a fan of travel and also lucky enough to own a TV, then you are probably already a fan of the Globe Trekker TV series. You may remember that they started out as the Lonely Planet series in 1994 and changed their name to Globe Trekker or Pilot Guides a few years ago. The format of the show is exactly the same, and adventurer/hosts Ian Wright, Justine Shapiro, and Megan McCormick are all still there and creating new episodes each year.
The great news is that they’ve created the GlobeTrekkerChannel for those of us who want to watch specific episodes at our own convenience on our home computer. Most of the older episodes are already in their library and available, and new episodes are being added all the time. There are two separate London episodes available, as well as another one on all of England and Wales.
To get started you need to register on the GlobeTrekkerChannel site, which will help you stay aware of which new episodes are coming. Then you buy credits and begin watching exactly what you are interested in. Each episode can be viewed an unlimited number of times for 7 days after you purchase it.
In addition to the main episodes there are other shows including Planet Food. If you haven’t got time to watch the episodes you can still download the catchy theme music to your mobile device, and even download recipes from Planet Food. There are some free interviews with the hosts if you want to give the thing a try. Check it out.
