* Commercials for bookmakers, casinos and gambling websites to be allowed on tv.(TheTimes)

* Lost luggage sent to auction by British Airways going for between £5-£50 a piece.(Telegraph)

* Newquay hosts Britain’s largest surfing event.(TheIndependent)

* New Gordon Brown Labour government asks US to release five foreign nationals from Guantanamo Bay and send them to Britain. You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out they weren’t there on holiday but it seems you just need to pass through Heathrow these days and the British government is willing to accept responsibility for you.(DailyMail)

* The BBC pays out £20million in bonuses to staff. There had to be a good reason the cost of a TV Licence keeps going up.(DailyExpress)

* BAA (British Airports Authority) may lose ownership of Gatwick Airport in competition inquiry.(EveningStandard)
