The war on all fronts against the motorist continues in London with the news that speed cameras on Upper Thames Street will be facing both forwards and backwards to allow them to take a digital photo of the cars driver so that people won’t be able to deny they were driving if the car breaks the speed limit.
Transport for London and the Mayor don’t like people saying it wasn’t me driving to get out of paying the fine and are only too happy to stroke their camera fetish by installing more on London streets. Incidently you can tell what type of guy the Mayor is, he went to the London Government Dinner last night, a black tie event at the Mansion House hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, and went in his regular suit. He’s a socialist and wearing a tux is elitest, and so is owning a car if you live in southern England according to the same odd mentality.
If you’re in the UK for an extended stay and plan to drive regularly here’s a site called Snooperwarehouse that offers some gadgets to warn you of up coming speed cameras, they might save you some money.
