One man protest in London

Got to love ex-boxer Chris Eubank, he always was the ultimate poseur during his fight career, wearing jodhpurs, a monocle and carrying a cane, quoting Shakespeare and generally talking in riddles. Now his been arrested for driving his huge American truck up and down Whitehall near 10 Downing Street protesting about Prince Harry’s deployment to Iraq with his army unit.

In large letters over the back of the truck he has the words ‘BLAIR Don’t send our young prince to your catastrophic illegal war to make it look plausible’. He was taken in for a breach of the peace and driving without due care and attention, which is about the best they can come up with to get a protester off the streets.

One of Eubank’s favourite tricks used to be driving his truck into the West End and leaving it parked outside a restaurant while he had dinner, blocking the whole street knowing the traffic enforcement didn’t have a big enough towing vehicle. I wonder if he paid his congestion charge this time.
