A mugs game

Picking winners of horse races is difficult at the best of times, so you have to feel sorry for this guy in Newcastle who on saturday placed £2 on a Scoop6 accumulator, choosing the winners of six races.

He picked all six correctly and was in line to bank almost £1million except the stewards in the fifth race decided to disqualify the winner for interference.

Every racing pundit and expert I’ve heard on the radio today who saw the race said the winner should have kept the race and the guy’s been robbed.
And even if the result was put back to the way the horses finished the bookmakers have already paid out on the horse that was promoted to first, so he’d still get nothing.

Change your life, almost.
