An island in the Pacific could become one of the smallest countries in the world if the 660 eligible voters out of 1,500 residents vote for sovereignty today.
Tokelau is currently administered by New Zealand and is only 4.6 sq. miles in area.

If they do vote for independence they’ll have a great chance of picking up a good government job, it could a ‘who wants to be prime minister, who wants finance, who wants tourism, who wants ambassador to the US’ kind of deal.
