Becks on canvas sells fast in London

paintingst151206_243x199.jpgAn artist called Sacha Jafri has painted a large picture that he says represents the life of David Beckham. He’s called it The Celebration and it was auctioned off at the Ministry of Sound in London last night, going to a mystery buyer (Posh Spice maybe?) who forked out £125,000 for it.

I don’t remember Beckham having much to celebrate in the last few years, he’s in his fourth season with Real Madrid and has won diddley, England with him as captain have bombed in the World Cup and Euro’s, the new national coach has dropped him and so would Real if they could find anyone to take him. Then again the whole Beckham persona hasn’t been about football at all, its hair and wardrobe changes and pictures in the paper.

You can’t knock it because the proceeds are going to charity but looking at the photo of The Celebration, David Beckham is not the first thing that comes to mind.
