Doing God’s work

Liked this story for two reasons, one it shows a piece of equipment that could be very useful at Bootsnall HQ, keep your eyes open for one at the neighbourhood garage sales and two this is the kind of religion I like.
Want to increase your congregation, provide them with lots of cheap beer, its that simple reverand.

This man is up with the times. Give him some credit. My church that I grew up with in Chicago was freakin lost when trying to relate to us. If the local chruch did this, membership would treble.

When he’s talking about “Youth outings,” how old is he talking? Is he feeding Delicate Press Ale to minors?

Yeah, but he’s German. You can drink beer at age Born in Germany!

Still thinking on this one for American youth.

Alcohol in Germany and other European countries is viewed very differently than in the U.S. It’s accepted, part of and dealt with without the hoopla than Americans tend to give it. Same with sex.

I do agree with Sean, though, that churches need to reach out to American youth.

I think some American churches are trying. Last time I was in the states, my friend took me to this youth church she thought I’d meld with. The pastor was all tatted up, and apparently gave couples a free piercing if they were still married after a year or something like that. Anyway, even though I normally only attend church for weddings and funerals, I suspect this was a diversion from the tradition church youth outreach.

Good to see your message, Alyssa.

Religion has to change like everything else. And that’s great.

The days when people blindly adhered to some dogma are quickly diminishing. Faith is still a powerful tool, though, and I see its value when not imposed on everyone.

This is longer than I wanted it to be. My apologies.
