The German ambassador says the British are still obsessed with the World War 2 when they have any dealings with Germans.
I think he’s spot on but I don’t think he’s got a hope of this changing, not when the offical supporters band at England games are belting out the theme from The Great Escape for most of the match, the fans are chanting ‘two world wars and one world cup’ and a 5-1 World Cup qualifying win in Munich is treated like a second Agincourt.
