After a long and kind of stressful week at work I got up early today to work some overtime on Saturday. I knew I’d have a lot to do with finishing up from yesterday and what was happening today, so left my place at 6.15 am, got in the car, turned the key, nothing.’Oh you got to be having a fucking laugh’. Turn the key again, no sign of life. ‘For fucks SAKE’.
I’d got myself psyched up to hit the ground running this morning and it felt like getting kicked in the nuts straight away. I then spent an hour getting worked up waiting for the recovery truck to come and give me a jump start and finally made it to work.
Had a reasonable day at work but didn’t finish everything I had to, but that’s ok because now I’ve tomorrow off. Get in the car and the battery is dead again. Luckily there were still a couple of guys around to give me another jump start and from there I went straight to buy a new battery.
All this is not a big deal in the great scheme of things, but this morning I felt like digging a hole and burying my head in it for a while.
Finally got round to seeing Gangs of New York tonight. It had received some very mixed reviews over here, I thought it was good, a bit long, not as gory as I’d been led to believe, and has a great performance from Daniel Day-Lewis. Not Scorsese’s best film but I’d give it an 8/10.

Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Nick
I know, its easy to let stupid stuff take on significance.
You’re the first person to give a positive comment for Gangs of New York.
The small stuff somehow works its way into our system and gets way too much attention. Stay cool, Chris.
A couple of drinks and its all washed away.
