Labour MP Tony Banks says he’s stepping down at the next election because he finds his constituents problems ‘tedious in the extreme’.
Amazing that its taken him 22 years of living off his constituents taxes to come to this decision.
With MP’s getting almost 60 grand a year and the average one claiming £118,000 a year in expenses, most of which goes to wives or kids who they employ, I’m sure Tony Banks will enjoy a comfortable retirement not to mention the generous pension that members of parliament have locked in for themselves.
Sometimes when you see these characters who spend 20-40 years as an MP just for an easy life, term limits seem like a good idea.
