Gordon Brown, the Chancellor, is supposedly giving a little ground in the government’s crack down on people bringing back alcohol from the continent.
He might instruct the Customs Gestapo not to confiscate and crush your vehicle when they pull you in and decide you have too much booze for your own consumption. What a guy.
We’re constantly told that we’re in a single market and how important it is for the UK to remain in it, so why can’t we shop like its one market.
If I drive a van to my local store and fill it with beer its no one’s business and if I drive it to Calais and do the same it shouldn’t be any of Her Majesty’s Customs business either.
