You have to hand it to Lance Armstrong, when it comes to dominating opponents both physically and mentally he’s in a league of his own.
The Tour de France is in its third and final week entering the Alps and the organizers had set up this years course so that all Lance’s big rivals would have a shot at attacking him late on.
Unfortunately none of the main challengers looks like they have the will to take him on whatever it takes, Lance won his second stage today.
I watched an interesting interview with Armstrong last night, recorded before the start of the Tour, where he said the race would be sorted out not with the Alpine stages and thursday’s time trial up L’Alpe D’Huez but in the Pyrennes and that’s how its proved.
Listening to him he has that arrogance and confidence, ‘his people say he’s happy if he comes second and that’s great for him’ talking about main rival Jan Ullrich, where you just know this guy is not going to lose.
Its not over till sunday, but if anyone thinks they can beat Lance Armstrong this year they’ll have to put in the ride of their life in the next three days.

Ullrich could use some juice, I thought he might give Lance some competition but he’s offered very little.

Sean and I met this guy just over a year ago at the organic wine festival.

Mate - he has been phenomenal as you suggest - getting up super early tommorrow to watch the Alpe de huez (sp?) stage.
I read Kimmage’s book on the way home…I hope that there are not performance enhancing drugs on the tour - either way - this guy is kicking everyone’s arse (except basso’s) and it’ll be fun to watch the last few days.
