A report in the Sunday Times details an analysis by accountants Ernst and Young on the tax burden on people in Britain.
It uses the government’s own figures to show how the amount of tax paid is the highest ever. Its incredible that if you take income tax, national insurance, vat and excise duties a basic rate taxpayer pays £48.50 on every £100 earned.
And where does it all go. The Health Service is in the shit, education is struggling, the prison’s are full and there’s more crime than ever.
What do Tony Blair and Gordon Brown actually spend all this income on.
