Legendary rock band Led Zeppelin have announced they’re reforming for a one off concert at London’s O2 Arena as a tribute to Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records who signed the band in 1968 and who died late last year. (He also co-founded the New York Cosmos football team, see the film Once In A Lifetime).
The O2 gig will be on 26 November and Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini will also play on the night. Tickets are £125 (not cheap) and because the O2 only holds 22,000 anyone wanting tickets needs to register online at www.ahmettribute.com for a ballot where winners of a chance to buy a ticket will be drawn at random. It’ll be two tickets per lucky winner.
