London through the fog

Believe it or not this is London under a bank of morning fog. This picture is in today’s Metro and was taken by a passenger on a plane approaching Heathrow. It shows the offices towers of Canary Wharf, which are right on the River Thames, just peeking through the fog and very little else for as far as the eye can see.

London’s had some fairly mild weather lately, with fog hanging around till lunchtime a couple of days this week then burning off leaving clear skies. Temperatures are forecast to drop a little from tomorrow.
