London webcams

547450.jpgThere are a number of websites that offer webcams or links to webcams covering various parts of London. Transport for London’s Capital Cams has more than 80 cameras that look over some of the main roads and junctions throughout London, with a heavy focus on central and north London. They only seem to refresh every five minutes or so but the picture quality looks pretty good.

Camvista has links to around 15 London based cameras and these seem a bit faster reloading, some doing so every 5-10 seconds.
Explore London has a list of links, checkout the Abbey Road camera that’s trained on the zebra crossing that The Beatles walked over on the cover of their 1969 album Abbey Road. It refresh’s every few seconds and you’ll see groups of tourists going back and forwards aross the road trying to recreate the album cover picture.

The BBC webiste has a number of webcams on offer including views from the roofs of their buildings, traffic cameras, the shark tank at the London Aquarium and the new Wembley although the pictures on that aren’t very good.

London SE1 uses a map with popups to let you choose a location in south of the river but they link mostly to the TfL cameras.

If you get tired of looking at street scenes here’s a link to 22 year old Miss Whiplash’s bedroom cam, only joking.
